Eventually something managed to take the Hulk down. Now Bruce is waking up.]

Uff. That was reasonably horrible.

Ain't the first time I've seen someone do that. It were the first time I've seen someone turn green when they do that, though.

I hope not. I don't think the world could take too many people like that guy.

He's not as bad as the bloody nine. I don't think the green man wants to do wrong. I think he still cares.

There are occasionally brief moments of lucidity. Most of the time, though...

[Not all the Hulk's rampages have been casualty free. Something Banner doesn't really like to dwell on too much.]

Someone y'don't want to meet. [ Logen shifts his weight, his smelly old coat giving him a disreputable appearance. And so does his ripe smell. He's got a trash fire going in a large 50 gallon drum nearbye ]

[Bruce climbed out of the pile of debris.]

Like you wouldn't believe.

[ Logen hands bruce a rather questionable-looking sandwich, and begins eating one of his own, grunting. ]

So how common is that?

[Option one, use a throwing knife - that's likely to make him madder. Option two, run then cast spells, option three - just run.

He turns on his heel and starts bolting off, softly murmuring under his breath asking a rabbit spirit to grant him swiftness]

[The Hulk noticed Dietrich running and, since the whole situation could be interpreted as being his fault, decided that was more than enough reason for it to give chase while roaring.]

[There's not enough ways to say shit in the world to convey the Shaman's full feelings on the matter.

He wished that Eiger was somewhere ready to pump this guy with enough tranquilizers to knock out a bear, but nope. It's just him. He turns to an alleyway - suicidal and leaps onto a fire escape, climbing up - maybe he can tire the big guy out.

Yeah, and maybe he can sing without the aid of a bucket]

[The Hulk followed him into the alley, briefly slowed down by the fact that he was slightly too wide to fit. Leaving a trail of shattered bricks as his shoulders ripped up the walls, he made a furious lunge that almost caught Dietrich's foot as he scrambled upwards.

Damn, If he couldn't reach the tiny, puny mage, the next step was to just rip the whole fire escape off the side of the building.]

What I want is to study him. There's no way to puncture his skin enough to get a tissue sample, so I need the Hulk's willing compliance to get under a microscope.

[This is an even worse idea than fighting him, yes.]

I'd put the odds of that happening at around less than zero.

[And suddenly Batman is way up in Banner's face, lookin' scowly. Is there any reason the Hulk should be possible to intimidate? Maybe not, but if anyone can pull it off...

Incidentally, he's holding a newspaper, which he throws on the desk. The Daily Planet, in fact. The front page story, by one Clark Kent, is...]

[Banner looked vaguely worried at suddenly having Batman in his grill, but if you were good enough at reading faces you might be able to tell that he was more worried about Batman than he was about himself.]

This won't be the last time someone tries it, or the first. I encourage you to help them if you can because they will probably die. Hell I'll even give you a blood sample myself if you really want me to.

But, the Other Guy isn't going to cooperate. That's not really what he does.

Your blood might help, or it might not. I need to understand exactly what changes in your cellular structure when you transform. It could lead to a cure. If someone manages to create more Hulks, that could be the only way to stop them.

[He's taking a step back now, and his voice softens slightly. He's sympathetic to Banner's circumstances, but he's not taking no for an answer.]

You've managed controlled transformations before, Dr. Banner. You saved Tony Stark's life. You must be able to gain enough control for this.

[Earlier, Ike had wanted to have a match against the Hulk. Now, he's simply gazing over the damage dealt.]

...I can see why you said it was a bad idea to have a match.

[They hadn't actually fought, and Ike was still confident that he could at least hold his own (considering all the other foes he's fought), but damn.]

[Why does no one ever BELIEVE him?]

"Bad" doesn't begin to cover it.

More for the surroundings than for me, at least. I've got plenty of faith in my own ability -- I just wouldn't want any civilians getting caught in the crossfire.

He also doesn't understand the idea of "practice".

Or no, it might be better to say he doesn't care about it.
