This is a fine revel, but that alone does not let me know your measure as a man/woman/individual [select appropriate].

Tell me, what would you say is the most important thing in life? What ideal do you value above all others?

This need not come to violence, my friend. You need only surrender and join my cause. Surely a peaceful resolution would be best?

[Time was of the essence in during those few weeks in Fuyuki, as the Fourth Holy Grail War waxed and waned with the same ephemeral nature as the tides. With Caster defeated by chivalry and a temporary truce, they had a rare opportunity to breath.

...and Oceanus weighed heavily on the young man's mind.

It wouldn't be nearly what Rider must have imagined, but it would have to suffice.

That was why he marched down the street in silence after throwing an XXXXL pair of swim trunks at the giant Macedonian and yelled at him to put them on. His own preparations were paltry in comparison-- the sweater and tie had been removed, and the shoes were replaced with something more casual.

As always, he couldn't spit the words out.]

This land has so many kinds of leggings. I like the designs on this one, though. Very eye catching.

[A king must stand out on the battlefield, after all.]

[Of course they were eye-catching. Waver was under the impression that gaudy garments like this would always catch Rider's interest-- they were flashy, and a conqueror must always be seen.

...right?

Huffing irritably, he glanced up at Rider like an embarrassed kid.]

Nothing much. You said you wanted to get out, right?

[There were towels crisply folded up in his backpack, and a sorry little bottle of sunsreen-- Waver didn't relish the idea of getting sunburned because of that oaf.]

Of course! It would be a shame to have a second chance at life and spend it all hiding in this little house!

[A small nod. That was what he had thought.]

Well. That's what we're doing.

[He tore his gaze away, unable to look his Servant in the eyes after the harrowing battle with Caster and the fragmented scraps of dreams that could only be the result of their odd, magical connection. Waver almost felt ashamed, because he knew far more than a young man should and yet understood so little.

And, there was little that he could actually do.

Rider would note that they were nearing a staircase set into the sheer cliffs that dropped from the street into the sea. At the bottom was a narrow strip of sand-- something like a beach. They weren't alone either, as there was a gaggle of teenagers skipping school and a couple of disapproving old fisherman minding their lines over some drinks and quiet conversation.]

[Sinbad grins faintly as he gently gestures the women hanging around them to find someone else to have with for a bit, while he whispers to one:]

[With that, he turns to Rider, hands clasped together, eyes turning to the people still partying]

See how happy they are? They don't have to worry about whether their homes are going to be razed by an enemy, persecuted for being different, don't have to fear their king will seize their belongings and take their children to die in some foreign land. That's what I think is important - the freedom to just be without the cloud of dread and doom over their heads and not having to surrender their culture or their ideas just to live.

It sounds to me like you barely rule this land at all. If you want your people to be able to do whatever they want, do you know if you can count on them when you need them?

[He smiles faintly, answering without a moment's hesitation as he refills their glass]

Of course. Everyone here is practically my family here. I'm not saying we are without rules - as that's not a country that's chaos. But this is a place where they have no fear of being treated as a tool or simply a resource.

[He chews this idea over, considering it.]

[It was certainly not the Lady Rozalin, with her disdain for all things that smack of the lower classes, muscular exertion, and mass consumption, who introduced Rider to Professional Wrestling.

But it's got some clear attractions. Yes, it's fake, but it's faked well. There is an artistry to it, and an aspect of well done theater. So even if it is bad wrestling, perhaps he is still interested.

Again, however, Rozalin isn't fond of it at all.]

I'm not sure, to be honest. They call them wrestlers, but they're more like clowns if you ask me.

[Rozalin reaches for the remote to switch off this display of men hitting each other with chairs. Because if she doesn't want to watch it, that means nobody else should either, right?]

Anyway, being a Pokémon is a choice between fighting for your own sake and fighting for someone else's, is it not?

[A poor idea on her part, and she knew it. But she still had to. Her pride would not allow for anything else. To challenge someone actually NAMED Rider in a battle of this sort would prove to be the greatest of challenges for her.

Rider, behold one of the many 'steeds' of the common era. While not in as much use as the common car, I find these to be most akin to how riding a horse is.
