[Pick some aspect of our modern culture. A TV show, a video game, a sport, whatever. Be creative. I shall have Rider experience it and give his thoughts on it.]

[The best time for soul searching is at the tail end of a massive party when everyone is slightly drunk. Rider, a goblet of wine in one hand, addresses you seriously.]
This is a fine revel, but that alone does not let me know your measure as a man/woman/individual [select appropriate].
Tell me, what would you say is the most important thing in life? What ideal do you value above all others?

[Battle is joined! Or at least, it will be in a moment. First, the enemy would have a word with you, under the flag of parley.]
This need not come to violence, my friend. You need only surrender and join my cause. Surely a peaceful resolution would be best?
[Despite his conciliatory words, he IS still addressing you from a massive chariot.]
-OR-
Just respond to this post with a character, either making up your own scenario or just leaving the comment blank. If you leave it blank, I shall do my best to come up with an entertaining situation for the characters involved.

That's it, isn't it? The edge of the world.
[Or at least of Eurasia.]

[Waver followed his gaze, brows furrowed as he thought.]
On the other side of it is a continent, called America. Below that, another-- also America. [He cast an almost flustered look up at Rider.] The Spanish weren't very creative with their names.
Beyond those is another ocean, and then you're back home. ....But, you knew that already.

[Their worlds just happened to be almost two millennia apart in time.]
There's not much this little island chain can offer you besides video games and the Grail. I thought this might make up for it.

...It's not as big as I imagined.

[Forehead flick!]
Oceanus was more than just the eastern most ocean of Eurasia. Oceanus was an idea! We tried all the harder to reach it because we knew we never would! Oceanus is reaching for that which you cannot reach, because just the reaching is worthwhile.

So you're saying that you were after something that you knew you would never reach!? That's-- that's--
[Really, really stupid!]

[He squatted down by Waver so that he didn't tower over him by QUITE so much.]
Don't worry, boy. It was a good gesture.

You idiot. You had to have hoped that you would make it. Otherwise, you wouldn't have travelled over half a continent on foot to find it.

I wanted to reach Oceanus. We all did. But in my heart of hearts, what I was really after was to just keep seeing what was over the horizon. To keep going until the ends of the Earth. If we actually reached Oceanus, it would all be over. There'd be no more world left to conquer.
I don't know what I would have done next.

[Just like he saw that time, while they both slept under the roof of the Mackenzies.]
But, still. Doesn't this-- aren't you--?
[He couldn't forumulate the sentence properly. Come on, Rider. He was at least trying to do something nice here.]

Don't worry, this still seems an fine way to spend an afternoon. I have always enjoyed swimming.

--Okay. As long as you're okay with this, then maybe this wasn't a wasted trip after all.
