Here's a few things Akane gets up to:
1: Unexpected Visit - After wandering off into the world months (or longer) ago, your old friend Akane appeared at your front door, beaming.
2: Drinking - Akane likes her booze. Maybe you also like your booze. Maybe you needed her to do something. Maybe you just don't want her rolling around and making a lot of noise on the premises.
3: Showing off - Akane is a world famous witch, after all. Now's your chance to get to see some magic first hand!
4: Shop talk - Fellow magic practitioners only. Trade ingredients, discuss spell components, etc.

[It seemed simple enough. Get a lesson on magic from her sister, and try to implement it herself. This time, she was working on the moving paper origami her sister used to make messages with.

Makoto had managed to fold the origami properly, but... after several tries, she couldn't get them to move under her own power.]

Mmm, what am I not getting...?

Honestly it's kind of a finicky spell until you get the hang of it. I've found it helps if you have something from you inside them. ABC gum works well.

[adangerousperson]

Eh? Something from me? Gum?

[Makoto thought back to the time with the crows.]

This isn't going to end with me covered in paper cranes, is it?

[jetsetwitch]

No no!

[She made a disarming waving gesture with one hand while digging through a side pocket of her backpack with the other.]

Totally different, I promise.

[After a bit of digging, she pulled out a battered pack of gum and offered a piece to Makoto. We're doing this.]

[adangerousperson]

... [Makoto eyed the gum nervously, before sighing.]

If you say so, oneesan.

[With that, she began to move it to her mouth to chew upon it.]

[Akane went back to watching TV while Makoto did this. It would be a shame to use it before the flavor was gone.]

[adangerousperson]

[Makoto put it into her mouth, and began to chew it... making a small sound of frustration as her sister began to watch TV. She sighed, before turning back and folding some more cranes.

Once the gum lost its flavor, she stopped, and looked back at her sister.]

Okay oneesan, what do I do now?

Now take a tiny bit of gum and stick it somewhere inside the cranes. It doesn't take much. You should be able to do at least six or seven from one pieces.

[It's kind of gross, but it does make the spell easier.]

[adangerousperson]

A-ah, well...

[Makoto took a deep breath, and took the gum out of her mouth. Trying not to concentrate on how gross it was, she tore off a piece, and pressed it onto one of the cranes, pressing it flat. Then she held it up for her sister to see.]

Am I on the right rack, oneesan?

[jetsetwitch]

Yup! Now try the spell again.

[She turned away from the TV to watch.]

[adangerousperson]

[Makoto smiled when Akane turned to watch, before setting the crane back down.]

Here I go then!

[She pumped her arms to psych herself up, and did the spell as best she could from memory.]
