"I think I can maybe get-" Mir was cut off by a master system alarm and she growled in anger. "Rodger that-I just lost the signals computer-must have taken a while for it to heat up enough for the Q-bits to denature. We're gonna need to replace it wholesale I bet." That was painful to admit, since the most expensive single part on the mobile armor was it's signals analysis computer. Mir pulled a coolant flush lever and sent a gush of boiling ammonia out into space, then began to move the armor over the hull, trying to get the internal temperature down as the conductive layers dumped stored heat from the lasers into both space and her cockpit.

By the time she made it back into the repair bay, while the outer surface of parts of her mobile armor was no longer glowing, the cockpit temperature was like a sauna. And when she got out, her boots sizzled a little as the heat of the hull began to melt the rubber soles.
